Walk to earn screen time
Stroll turns your steps into minutes for the apps you choose. You decide which apps use those minutes and how many steps earn one minute, so the trade always matches your own day.
Set it up in three steps
Install Stroll, allow it to read your steps, then choose the apps you want to limit. Last, set your earn rate — the number of steps that earns one minute. That rate is a setting, not a fixed rule, so you can raise or lower it any time.
An example, not a fixed rate
Say you set 100 steps per minute. Walking 1,000 steps earns 10 minutes for your chosen apps, and 3,000 steps earns 30. This is only an example — pick a number that feels manageable and adjust it once you see how your week goes.
What happens when your minutes run out
Stroll pauses the apps you selected and shows a pause screen. Apps you did not select are unaffected, so calls, messages and maps keep working. Walking earns more minutes, and your selected apps open again once you have time available.
Android and iPhone work differently
On Android, Stroll reads steps through Health Connect (with phone step counting as a fallback) and manages your chosen apps using Usage Access and Accessibility. On iPhone, Stroll reads steps through Apple Health and manages the apps or categories you pick through Screen Time, which works in unlock sessions rather than continuous usage tracking.
Questions people ask
Can I change my earn rate later?
Yes. The number of steps that earns one minute is a setting you can adjust whenever it feels too easy or too strict.
Do steps I took before setting up Stroll count?
Stroll reads step data from Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iPhone. What appears depends on the step data your phone has recorded and the permission you grant.
Do I need a smartwatch or fitness band?
No. Stroll uses the step data your phone already records.
