Reduce Instagram screen time
You can spend less time on Instagram without deleting your account. With Stroll, Instagram becomes one of the apps that uses time you earn by walking, so opening it is a choice rather than a reflex.
Add Instagram to your chosen apps
In Stroll, select Instagram from the apps on your phone. From then on, opening Instagram uses the minutes you have earned. Anything you did not select — messages, maps, music, work apps — stays outside Stroll's limits.
Decide what a minute costs you
Set how many steps earn one minute. For example, at 100 steps per minute a 1,000-step walk earns 10 minutes of Instagram. That figure is an example; you can change the rate whenever it feels wrong.
The limit covers the whole app
Stroll's limit applies to the Instagram app as a whole, not to Reels, Stories or the feed separately. While you have earned minutes, everything inside Instagram works normally. When they run out, the app pauses until you walk again.
Small changes that help alongside Stroll
Move Instagram off your home screen, turn off notifications that come from the algorithm rather than from people, and pick one time of day for catching up. Stroll adds the pause; these habits reduce how often you reach for the app at all.
Questions people ask
Can I block Reels but keep the rest of Instagram?
No. Stroll applies your limit to the Instagram app, not to individual features inside it. When you have earned minutes, all of Instagram is available; when they run out, the app pauses.
Do I still get Instagram notifications?
Stroll manages when you can open your selected apps. It does not change Instagram's own notification settings — you can turn those off in your phone settings if they pull you back in.
Do direct messages count as Instagram time?
Yes. Messages inside Instagram are part of the Instagram app, so they use the same earned minutes. If you message often, leave a comfortable buffer or choose a gentler earn rate.
Will I lose my account or posts?
No. Instagram stays installed and your account is untouched. Stroll only affects when you can open the app.
